Karen started her coaching career in Williamsburg, Virginia as a trainer for three separate facilities, as well as a rehabilitation specialist in private homes. She’s worked with hundreds of people as an AFPA Certified Personal Trainer and Post Rehabilitation Exercise Specialist. The last 13 years she was affiliated with a small gym in St. Charles, Missouri as a fitness coach and personal trainer. She gained an additional certification as an exercise affiliate of PD Gladiators, an Atlanta-based non-profit where she teaches exercise classes for people with Parkinson’s Disease. Her class Fit Body, Relaxed Mind is a popular exercise choice in Atlanta. Presently she teaches Movement Disorders Training at the St. Peters RecPlex.
In the Spring of 2013 The Zen of Weight Loss was published (co-author Jeri Levesque, Ed.D.). It’s the embodiment of Karen’s philosophy of fitness. Since then, she’s presented her program through lectures and workshops. ZWL Coaching Method approach to fitness has allowed many to reclaim their health and liveliness. ZWL is gaining momentum as an effective way to create goals and identify what you must do to get there. While group presentations are effective you can also choose to work one-on-one with Karen to design your personal program and achieve what you want.
|“As a person with a 13-year history of Parkinson’s Disease and expertise in exercise, I am quite selective of those with whom I work. I first met Karen when I was a participant in her Fit Body, Relaxed Mind group exercise and meditation class offered through the PD Gladiators network. As a teacher Karen is enthusiastic, creative, and able to modify exercises so that participants at different levels can all be successful. I have also hired Karen as a personal trainer, and I have not been disappointed. She gently nudges me farther than I could go on my own.” BG, Atlanta|
